Grandma's service was really beautiful. All her children had a memory or a sentiment to share. :)
Pretty much everyone in the family was there as well as many friends.
There were so many flowers it was like walking into a garden.
One arrangement had 20 roses for all Grandma's grandchildren plus five orchids for the great-grandchildren. Up on a podium was a single yellow rose in a vase from Grandpa. He would always bring Grandma yellow roses. The largest arrangement held 15 white roses in a beautiful Lenox vase. These were from Grandma's children and their spouses.
At the reception afterward, there was a lot of food we had catered. It was good but we ran out. :( Just goes to show we can't plan a gathering as well as Grandma could.
My Aunt made a bunch of our family's special Christmas cookies, but they were all red white and blue for Memorial Day. My Grandma loved those cookies so much so it was a fitting treat. :)
My contribution for the memorial was the calligraphy around a lovely big picture of Grandma that was right at the door as people came in and a coin from her birth year that Daddy and I had bought a while ago in her honor. I was so glad I was able to help in these ways.

Grandma's ashes will be spread later on the beach with Grandpa and my little cousin Jamie.
